Bangladesh's biggest ODI partnership

Stats highlights from Bangladesh's victory over New Zealand in Cardiff

224 Partnership between Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah for the fifth-wicket, is the second-highest for any wicket in Champions Trophy history. The only bigger stand was unbeaten 252 runs between Shane Watson and Ricky Ponting against England in the semi-finals of 2009 Champions Trophy in Centurion.

2 Number of higher fifth-wicket partnerships in ODIs, the highest being the unbroken 256 between JP Duminy and David Miller against Zimbabwe in the 2015 World Cup.

2 Instances of Bangladesh beating New Zealand in ODIs outside Bangladesh, which have come in successive games. Two weeks ago, they beat New Zealand in Dublin in the tri-series with Ireland. Before that, they had lost all 15 away ODIs against New Zealand. Overall, this was the 10th win for Bangladesh against New Zealand, their most against top-eight teams.

178 Previous biggest partnership for Bangladesh for any wicket in ODIs, between Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim against Pakistan in Dhaka in 2015. Shakib and Mahmudullah shared the first 200-run stand for Bangladesh in ODI history.

2 Number of bigger partnerships for any wicket against New Zealand in ODIs than the one between Shakib and Mahmudullah. This is the biggest against them since the 331 between Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar in Hyderabad in 1999.

2 Instances of two Bangladesh players scoring centuries in the same ODI. The first was by Tamim and Mushfiqur against Pakistan in Dhaka in 2015 and the second in this game. In the Champions Trophy, this was only the fourth such instance for any team.

2015 Last time Mahmudullah had scored a century in ODIs, also against New Zealand, in Hamilton at the World Cup. Incidentally, all three of his centuries have come in ICC tournaments.

6 Number of centuries for Shakib that have resulted in wins, joint-most for Bangladesh along with Tamim. Only one of Shakib's seven ODI centuries has come in losing cause. For Tamim, three out of his nine were in defeats.

51.67 Mahmudullah's average in wins for Bangladesh - the highest among all players with more than five innings. He averages just 26.81 in lost ODIs.

62 Runs added by New Zealand in the last 10 overs of the innings - the least among all teams in this tournament batting all ten overs. South Africa scored 63 runs against Pakistan on Wednesday, which was the previous lowest. New Zealand have a run rate of just 6.20 in the last ten overs, which is the lowest among all teams in that phase in this tournament.

4 Consecutive scores of 50 or more for Kane Williamson in the Champions Trophy - the most by any player. He made 67 in the last game of 2013 Champions Trophy and then 100, 87 and 57 in this tournament. Unfortunately, his scores couldn't seal a semi-final birth for his side and they were the first team to be knocked out. Williamson was also run out for the third time in his last four ODIs.
